New projects 2010 - 2012
Coming up:
Next to the repertoire there are two projects planned for the period 2010-2012.
Close Encounters: an series of instant performances, made in three weeks in which Ardai and Van Loo try to incorporate the culture of the hosting country by having a speeddate integration course. After this course they make a theatrical report, that they will bring back to the Western societies. During this voluntary integration course the artists will meet local artists, thinkers and ordinary people, who will teach them the local way of life. Special focus in the integration course is on social habits, familymatters, dealing with politics and history.
By absorbing this information Ardai and Van Loo will reenact their life in this new surrounding. Who would they be in Riga, Sarajevo, Bejing, Istanbul, etc? To what extend are they able to put aside their (European) preconditioned ego?
The other project is to go on with the concept of The Cloud in Western societies and create as many local versions as possible. Next to this trajectory SPACE wants to confront the concept of The Cloud with non-Western societies. Current options are in the first place Rio de Janeiro, Istanbul and Bejing. The local adaptation of the concept will be achieved by Close Encounters and workshops.
We are searching for creative partners to realize both trajectories.

Bonn. Es waren die apokalyptischen Todsünden, die uns das Leben schwer machten. Geldgier, Selbstbezogenheit, innere Leere, Konsum, Ängste, all diese spätkapitalistischen Mentalscharteken. Doch das war damals, 2010.

Heute dagegen, 50 Jahre später, leben wir im Paradies der emotionalen Sublimation, in der die Kommunikation totaler ist, als wir uns je träumen ließen. Zu verdanken haben wir das dem weltumspannenden Phänomen der Wolke.
